Victorville - DesertXpress on agenda
By: Brooke Edwards, Victorville Daily Press
VICTORVILLE • The council will vote Tuesday on a plan that will guide future development in a 15-square-mile area dubbed the Northern Triangle.
The Desert Gateway Specific Plan is focused around the DesertXpress train from Victorville to Las Vegas and includes zoning for commercial projects, master-planned housing and a golf course.
The city received several letters of complaint against the proposed specific plan, due to what residents claimed was the lack of information available on the project and the financial impact some said it will have on their area businesses. Two representatives from San Bernardino County also attended the planning commission meeting in November to express concerns with how the county’s dump would fit into the development plans.

The council meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall, 14343 Civic Drive.
